1. The anterior horn

The most important Angle on the tool. The included Angle between the front tool surface and the base surface has positive front Angle and negative front Angle. For different types of milling tools, the rake Angle should be measured in an orthogonal plane. The common front Angle combination form is as follows: double negative front Angle double negative front Angle milling tool is usually used square (or rectangular) without the back Angle of the insert, cutting edge more (generally 8), and high strength, good impact resistance, suitable for casting steel, cast iron rough processing.

2. After the Angle

The Angle between the cutter face and the cutting plane, the Angle of the cutter back is generally in the section perpendicular to the axis of the cutter or between orthogonal planes, measured in the base plane. The main function of the back Angle is to reduce the friction between the back surface and the workpiece, and the size of the back Angle will also affect the strength of the cutter teeth. The HSS tool has a slightly larger back Angle than the same type of carbide tool.

3. The insert Angle

The Angle between the main cutting edge and the base plane is measured in the main cutting plane. It is actually the spiral Angle of a cylindrical or end milling tool. There are positive edge Angle and negative edge Angle. For spiral tooth milling tool, its edge inclination Angle is spiral Angle. The helical Angle can be left or right. When the helix Angle is 0°, the cutting edge simultaneously cuts into the workpiece along its full length and finally leaves at the same time, so it is easy to produce vibration. When the spiral Angle is increased, the cutter teeth gradually cut and cut out along the cutting edge, thus improving the stability of the cutting process.
